Histomorphological characteristics of aorta and heart valves in patients with Marfan syndrome and Erdheim disease

Abstract

In the article patients with Marfan syndrome and Erdheim disease are described. Despite the differences in etiological factors and variety of clinical symptoms, the morphogenesis of aortic aneurysm in both groups of patients is similar. Aneurysm development is caused by pathological structure of the aortic layer. The identified morphological characteristics in these pathologies may be an the additional criteria for choosing the method, extent and radicality of surgical treatment of aortic aneurysm.
