Implantation of bare metal stent Djumbodis in aortic dissection (analytical review)

Abstract

Aim: to evaluate effectiveness and viability of bare metal stent with open, PCI and hybrid procedures for aortic dissection repair on the basis of current literature data.

Methods. Analysis of domestic and international publi- cations from 1987 to 2012 was performed.

Main results. The feasibility of bare metal stenting as a method of aortic dissection repair was proven by morphological and experimental data. Comparative clinical studies results confirm the decreasing of aortic diameter and false channel reduction due to bare metal stent implantation during open procedures into arch, descending and thoracoabdominal aortic portions. PCI bare metal stenting effective not only as a mono method and in combination with stent-graft or during hybrid procedure for repair of primary or residual aortic dissection and for it prevention.
