Simultaneous surgical treatment of a patient with colon cancer and concomitant aneurysm of the ascending aorta

Abstract

Choice of surgical strategy in cancer patients with concomitant aneurysm of the aorta still remains subject for discussion. Single publications, as a rule, designate preference of a step-by-step strategy in case of concomitant intraperitoneal malignant tumor and aneurysm of the thoracic aorta. Successful implementation of simultaneous surgery in the form of hemicolectomy on the right with prosthesis of ascending aorta and aortic valve has become the subject of this paper.
