Multidrug-resistant bacterial infections in the local general oncology hospital

Abstract

We made bacteriological tests of clinical material from 1047 patients with nosocomial infection in Moscow city oncological hospital № 62 during 2015 year. It was made for determining the frequency of occurrence multiresistant strains microorganisms. The selection of pathogens and determining the level of sensitivity of the isolated pathogens were performed in local laboratories using standards and foreign techniques on the automatic microbiological analyzer «Phoenix». The frequency of positive cultures was 64%. It was allocated 791 strains of microorganisms: 393 strain is gram-negative (G-) and 304 gram-positive (G+) bacteria. Frequency of Enterobacteriaceae was 80.7% (393), among which was dominated K. pneumoniae (125/393). The other 19.3% of strains were non-fermentative bacteria, generally P. aeruginosa – 77.7% (73/98). G+ flora was mainly represented by strains of S. aureus – 33.2% (101/304) and Enterococcus spp. – 60.2% (183/304). The resistance of Enterobacteriaceae to cephalosporins (CP) III–IV ranged was from 45.8 to 59.8%, to fluoroquinolones – 50%, carbapenems –from 11,4 to 15%. In this case, the most worrying situation was observed in the sensitivity of K. pneumoniae. Resistance to carbapenems ranged from 19.2 to 25%. Resistance of P. aerugino- sa to carbapenems was 48%, and to CP III–IV was even lower – 42,6–46,6%. More favourable situation was observed in the resistance of G+ flora. So the resistance of S. aureus to oxacillin represented 28.8%, to vancomycin – 12%. Resistance of Enterococcus spp. to vancomycin was 4.3%.
