Editorial

Dear friends and colleagues, authors and readers of our Journal,

the Content Selection & Advisory Board (CSAB) has advised that “Clinical and Experimental Surgery” will be accepted for inclusion in Elsevier’s (the world’s leading publisher of science and health information) Scopus – the largest abstract and citation database of peer-reviewed literature. This fact means not only high recognition of our mutual efforts but, at the same time, responsibility for the quality of our work. The Editorial Board, the Editorial Council and GEOTAR-Media Publishing Group are aimed at bringing the Journal “Clinical and Experimental Surgery” (CES) to an adequate international level in terms of both validity of the research being published, and the quality of the Journal’s design.

Even today CES has one of the best – among medical publications – style of presenting illustrations: they are all color and high quality ones. Starting with this, the fourth, issue we provide authors with another unique opportunity (and it is of crucial importance for surgical innovations): “Clinical and Experimental Surgery” offers video podcast for the manuscripts approved for publication (in addition to the standard pictorial graphics: drawings, diagrams, tables). And there are no file size, formatting or length limits for these videos. The videos uploaded by the authors will only be available in the online version of the Journal at http://www.cesurg.ru.

We are entering the fifth year of operation with increased circulation of 3,000 copies and are planning to start a process of gradual rotation of the members of our publishing activity and consider such permanent process of renewal of the Editorial Board and the Editorial Council as one of the most important for the improvement of the Journal. We are very grateful to everyone who supported the Journal in the early years and we are confident that our new editorial team will contribute to further increasing the impact factor of “Clinical and Experimental Surgery. Academician B.V. Petrovsky Journal”.

We would also like to extend special thanks to Viktor Yermakov, who has believed in the idea of creating a new surgical journal in the modern Russia and has made significant efforts to implement this challenging idea.

We hope that the current issue of the Journal will find its interested readers.
