Аortic valve reconstruction with xenopericardium

Abstract

Aortic valve reconstructive surgeries using biomaterials at early stages were not widespread due to the obtained results. However, due to the rapid development in the field of surgery and bioengineering technologies, there has been an increasing number of works devoted to the study of this problem. The article presents an experimental data obtained in Russian Research Center of Surgery, describing the basic techniques of the use of aortic leaflets from xenopericardium. This procedure using the bioengineering designed native valves was introduced into clinical practice.
