Off-pump revascularization with a bilateral internal mammary artery via left minithoracotomy
Abstract
Coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) is a common procedure in cardiac surgery nowadays.
Majority of the procedures are performed via conventional stermotomy which have been introduced in 1957. In order to improve the results of the procedures bilateral internal mammary
harvesting was implemented. The first coronary artery bypass grafting with bilateral internal
mammary arteries through the two inches incision on the chest were performed by Dr. P. Nam-
bair. The method got its name – «Nambiar Technique» – and was presented at The International
Society of Minimally Invasive Cardiac Surgery Annual Meeting in Los Angeles (USA) in 2012.
The method was considered to be the method of the future in cardiac surgery. In the report
we are presenting a case of revascularization with a bilateral internal mammary artery via left
minithoracotomy.
