Health and social status of patients with Tetralogy of Fallot, were operated by N.M. Amosov from 1960 to 1984 (preliminary report)
AbstractUNESCO has declared 2013 as the Year of outstanding scientist and surgeon Nikolay Amosov whose life is going on not only in our memories but also in actual lives of the patients he operated on. This article presents both the history of tetralogy of Fallot surgery and a unique analysis of postoperative results of 62 patients aged 7–22 at the time of operation and 36–66 at the time of this research. In the domestic and world literature on cardiac surgery studies of such duration are rare and therefore significant.
