EDITORIAL

Abstract

Dear colleagues!

Today, I am on a pleasant mission to grant the right of the Editorial to Howard Bauchner, Editor-in-Chief of the “The Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA)”, full professor of the Boston University School of Medicine. His Editorial to the JAMA readers “The Rush to Publication. An Editorial and Scientific Mistake” completely coincides with the opinion of the Editorial Board of our surgery journal.

Not to be unsupported by evidence, I will cite the multiple authors‘ address to the journal, similar to what all editors face today, in our opinion, not very seldom, and that’s why it is not particularly surprising: “A group of authors... ask you to clarify if it is possible to publish 3 articles in your journal by the end of 2017. Our group needs the articles published in 2017. The articles are ready for publishing, no problem with the payment will occur, and we are capable of paying for publishing these articles urgently. We earnestly request you to inform us on the dates and cost of publishing the article, if possible. Please reply to our question as soon as possible.”

On behalf of our readers, I would like to thank Professor Howard Bauchner once again for his consent to publish his extremely important article in the “Clinical and Experimental Surgery” journal, and to welcome all our colleagues who are interested in this to participate in the discussion of this problem.

With sincere respect and gratitude for attention to our journal
