Dual-energy MDCT for diagnostics and follow-up of chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (сlinical case)

Abstract

Multidetector computed tomography (MDCT) angiography is a highly informative method of diagnosis of the chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension. Method plays an important role in diagnosis and allows to determine the further patient management. The dual-energy MDCT angiography allows to determine the indications for surgical treatment with high accuracy. We present a clinical case of successful diagnosis and treatment of chronic pulmonary tromboembolism and massive thrombosis of the inferior vena cava in a patient with a genetic thrombophilia.
