Successful surgical treatment of the left frontal bone and the roof of the left parietal bone orbit extensive fibrous dysplasia
AbstractThe clinical observation of the patient with the advanced stage of polyostotic fibrous dysplasia of the cranial vault and skull base (the whole left parietal bone and the frontal bone with the transition to the upper wall of the left orbit) is presented in the article. A patient with polyostotic fibrous dysplasia in the cosmetically important facial area underwent hemicraniectomy involving the upper wall of the left orbit. And titanium allergy revealed in the course of medical treatment demanded the removal of the titanium implants and installation of customized polyetheretherketone (PEEK) implants.
