EDITORIAL

Abstract

There is not a single journal carrying weight and authority in the professional environment that strives at chronological order of articles and ranges them by date they were received by the editorial staff. Our 7-year work, efforts made by the editorial staff and editorial board, have filled the editorial portfolio with first-rate articles for several issues to come, thus enabling us to arrange for contents of each issue by establishing explicit or implicit cross-links between the articles. This issue can be designated as thoracoabdominal. And, as always, our main goal is visible – analytical and fundamental studies. The journal must participate in spreading actual and true-to-fact scholarly knowledge – only in this case can decent practical effect be achieved. It is difficult for those who build their activities only on reports, recommendations or guidelines to stop following others’ footsteps and take these practice guidelines to a higher scientific level. As of today, we have almost ceased to publish reviews of literature, and there are reasons for this decision: such reviews most often are trivial translations of articles, and, as a rule, there is not even an attempt to study the data set forth therein analytically. And, last but not least, the main reason is a sufficient number of interesting and original research articles in the editorial portfolio.

Have fun reading!
