Staging treatment of postnecrotic cyst of the pancreas head complicated by massive hemorrhage

Abstract

Pseudocysts of pancreas occur relatively rare among the causes of gastroduodenal hemorrhage. Considering that the conservative treatment of cystodigestive hemorrhage is not totally effective because of its pathogenesis, emergency surgical intervention is often performed at the height of the hemorrhage. It is followed by a high lethality. It seems more rational to treat this complication in two stages: 1) roentgen-endovascular hemostasis; 2) elective surgery.
