Surgical tactics in treatment of giant tumors of the kidney
Abstract
We present a clinical observation of successful surgical treatment of a giant tumor of the left kidney. The authors emphasize the importance of adhering to the basic stages of operations that are different from those for small tumors of the kidney. It is shown that the surgical tactics of treatment of giant tumors of the abdominal cavity and retroperitoneal space has its own characteristics, namely: the choice of optimal surgical access, the principles of tumor mobilization, isolation of feeding vessels, separation of the tumor from neighboring organs. Special attention is paid to intraoperative prevention of possible bleeding. Modern methods of examination and high qualification of the surgical team make it possible to perform radical surgical treatment of patients even with giant tumors of the urinary system.
