In vitro implantation of the new transcatheter prosthesis in mitral valve position of a silicone 3D heart model

Abstract

The aim of the study was to evaluate in vitro the new transcatheter mitral bioprosthesis in a silicone 3D heart model.

Methods. We evaluated the prototype of the first domestic self-expanding mitral transcatheter bioprosthesis "Solertis" in the silicone 3D heart model based on MSCT data of a patient with severe mitral regurgitation.

Results. We found correct orientation of the atrial and ventricular elements of the bioprosthesis and reliable circular coverage of the annular stent part, which provides stable fixation of the prosthesis in the mitral position of the 3D heart model without left ventricular outflow tract obstruction. The adequate function of the valve in the artificial systole and diastole was noted during assessment tests, there was no paraprosthetic regurgitation.

Conclusions. The prototype of the self-expanding transcatheter bioprosthesis "Solertis" demonstrated efficiency for the mitral valve replacement in vitro.
