Surgical treatment of early gastric cancer patient with programmed hemodialysis: safety-related issues

Abstract

The introduction of chronic hemodialysis into clinical practice has significantly improved prognosis and increased life expectancy in patients with terminal stage of chronic kidney disease. Consequently, the number of patients requiring elective surgical interventions in various areas of surgery has also increased. The issue of surgical treatment of patients with programmed hemodialysis and oncological diseases, in particular, with stomach cancer, seems to be the most actual. Surgical intervention can be performed with minimal risk for the patient with correct planning of the perioperative period.
