The clinical case of aortic root rupture with transcatheter aortic valve replacement

Abstract Transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) carries the risk of intra-procedural complications, which may ultimately require emergency cardiac surgery. One of these complications is rupture of the aortic root, a potentially fatal complication, however, it is difficult to determine the causes and predictors leading to this complication, because the frequency of occurrence is up to 1.1%. We would like to present a clinical case of aortic root rupture during TAVI.
