One-stage heart and lung operations at IHD and malignant lung pathology in conditions of artificial blood circulation

Abstract

Aim: analysis of the direct and remote results of the combined operations at coronary heart disease and lung cancer carried out in conditions of artificial blood circulation.

Methods. 112 one-stage heart and lungs operations are carried out from December, 2002 to December, 2010. Age of patients of 29–76 years, 84 from them – the man. At 18 patients before operation are implanted coronary stents, at the others heart and lungs operations are carried out in the open way.

Main results. Time of artificial blood circulation – 2 h 35±20 min. Blood loss volume – 580±170 ml. Postop- erative nonlethal complications were observed at 14%

operated. Hospital lethality – 5,4%. Average length of stay in hospital – 10±3 days. 76 (93%) patients are under supervision after operation till 7 years. Five- year survival – 35%. Recurrence of stenocardia – 7,5% by 5th year of life.

Conclusion. Results testify that level of complications and lethality at simultaneous heart and lungs operations is comparable at stepped therapy. System of selection, examination, surgical treatment and further dispensary supervision of patients with cardiopulmonary pathology is a basis for successful treatment of this difficult group of patients.
