Simultaneous thoracoscopic lobectomy and thymectomy

Abstract

The combination of a tumor of the lung and mediastinum is an extremely rare clinical situation. The treatment of this category of patients is a difficult task for clinicians, due to the relatively small number of observations and the lack of a single point of view on treatment tactics, especially in early stage NSCLC in combination with thymoma. The rapid development of endoscopic technologies in the last decade has made it possible to significantly expand the boundaries of the possibilities of thoracoscopic operations. The article describes a clinical case of successful simultaneous thoracoscopic lobectomy and thymectomy in a patient with lung cancer and thymoma.
