Alveolar echinococcosis of the splen and kidney with liver metastases: diagnosis and treatment tactics

Abstract

Extrahepatic localization of alveococcal lesions is extremely rare. We present our own clinical case of a 46-year-old patient with alveococcal lesions of the spleen and kidney and metastases to the liver.

This clinical case demonstrates the possibilities of common alveococcus of extrahepatic localization with metastases to the liver treatment. During the initial examination of the patient at his place of residence, the diagnosis was not made. Despite the characteristic signs of alveococcus, when making a diagnosis, specialists did not consider this nosological form in the differential series, which is most likely explained by the rarity of localization of alveococcus in the spleen and kidney. Treatment tactics in this case are typical and are determined in accordance with the volume of the lesion and the principles of treatment of alveococcosis.
